Technical Account Manager

The Technical Account Manager (TAM) is the main point of contact for all our managed service customers.   The TAM is assigned accounts.  Within these accounts the TAM is responsible for developing relationships with key stakeholders.   The TAM is then responsible for understanding the account’s business goals and then understand how technology within the customer’s environment affects those business goals.  Successful TAM’s understand how to balance technical knowledge with interpersonal skills.   They are good leaders, engaging and directing internal resources on how to solve the customer’s issue while defending internal resources when the customer does not have realistic expectations.   They also are good listeners, hearing the customer’s frustrations, applying what they heard to create solutions that mitigate those frustrations.


The daily responsibilities of a TAM include, but are not limited to, the following:
  • Plan implementation of technology
  • Improves efficiencies and enables the customer to achieve their business goals
  • Issue Resolution
  • Customer Satisfaction
  • Preserve company/ client relationship
  • Introduce new technology to clients
  • Being a liaison between the service dept and the client with what issues are encountered



  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Must have strong communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Strong interpersonal, problem-solving, decision-making, planning, and organizational skills
  • Ability to maintain above average level of accuracy, quantity, and proficiency of work in a busy atmosphere
  • Adaptability and dependability


  • Bachelor’s Degree in a technical field of study or Business
  • Experience working for an IT Service Provider
  • 3-5 years of work experience in customer service
