The ideal ABS Desktop Engineer is a proactive self-starter with exceptional troubleshooting and analytical skills who possesses an ability to excel in a fast-paced environment. He or she must possess excellent logical problem-solving skills as well as the ability to follow through. This position may require traveling to satellite facilities in Kentucky.


An ABS Desktop Engineer is a hands-on team player who isn’t afraid to get their hands dirty. This person is collaborative, creative, and energetic in spirit. He or she has a genuine enthusiasm for technology and a keen interest in helping people achieve more through the careful adoption and support of Information Technologies.  This is a customer-facing role in a Healthcare environment working onsite.  While deploying or replacing hardware, you will be supporting several project team members, training classes and a go-live period toward the end of the project.


The daily responsibilities of an ABS Desktop Engineer include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Follow ABS Service Standards and Best Practices daily.
  • End user communication and technical support.
  • Installation and configuration of end user devices.
  • Communicate with customers and team, to provide updates on open tickets as needed.
  • Work with an existing team to implement end user hardware to support an EMR.


Required Experience

  •  3 years of relevant IT experience
  • 1 year of end user device installation and configuration experience.
  • Understanding of support tools, techniques, and how technology is used to provide IT services.

Required Skills

  • Strong customer service and troubleshooting skills. Ability to communicate technical information, both verbal and written, to a wide range of end-users.
  • Hardware installation and configuration: Computer, Printer, Scanner, Barcode scanners, and other peripheral devices.
  • Attention to detail and thorough documentation skills.
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Desktop Operating Systems including but not limited to Windows XP/ 7/8/10
  • Experience with SCCM imaging processes.
  • Working knowledge of Active Directory
  • Working knowledge of IP networking.
  • Ability to multi-task, and adapt to change quickly.
  • Above average ability to work in a team environment and communicate effectively.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work in a fast-moving environment.

Preferred Experience

  • Associates degree, certifications, or equivalent experience.
  • Experience working for an IT Service Provider
  • Experience working in a Healthcare environment
  • Experience with EMR’s.
  • Single Sign-On (SSO) application experience, preferred Impravata.
  • Industry certifications such as MCSA, MCSE
  • Cerner EMR Experience

Preferred Skills

  • HIPPA trained or certified
  • Industry certifications such as MCSA, MCSE
